PTA President >> Beth Casper
Hi, I’m Beth, mom to two boys. Eli is in third-grade and Ewan is in first grade. My family loves to camp, bike, hike, play in the Oregon surf, work our way through every U-pick fruit in the summer and complete all kinds of puzzles. We are looking forward to some new activities at Edgewood this year: the ice cream social and the Reading Olympics, in particular. We also are excited to get going on some wonderful playground improvements!
PTA Vice President >> Billy Dahmen
Hello! My name is Billy Dahmen, and I’m honored to be on the PTA this year. My wife, Nicole, and I have two children: Nicholas is in second grade, and Zoey is in first grade. We moved to Eugene two years ago after spending seven years in Louisiana. I’m originally from San Diego, and definitely consider myself a west coaster who loves hiking and camping. My undergrad degree is in forestry and wildlife ecology, and I spent a number of years working in the field. But I’ve been privileged to be a full-time dad since we re-located to Eugene. I’ve just started substituting for educational assistant positions, and I am considering pursuing a master’s degree in teaching with the goal of teaching middle school science. Our family is so exited about being at Edgewood!
PTA Treasurer >> Meridith Turnbull
My mom is really cool, she has many great qualities. Some of which are her nurturing aura, mastery of numbers, and her calm and collected nature. She is a great problem solver. Though she sometimes procrastinates when crunch time rolls around she always gets things done. We have three Turnbulls at Edgewood and one Turnbull at Spencer Butte.

Hello, Edgewood parent volunteers! This is my family’s fourth year at
Edgewood—Alaya is in the third grade, and her big brother, Nolan, has moved on to sixth grade at the Butte after three great years at Edgewood. I teach writing at OSU, but our family happily cheers for Ducks and Beavers alike. We’ve lived in Oregon for about six years, and feel like we’ve only begun to explore all the fantastic family adventures the state has to offer. Our favorite Edgewood events are Fun Night and OBOB, and we’re very excited for the debut of the Edgewood Reading Olympics!
