Kindess Adventure Assembly and Jewelry

On Friday, the kids were treated to a Kindness Adventure Assembly. The performance was informative about Kenya and it was about how to show kindness to those we perceive as different from ourselves. The kids and staff loved the performance and it was free to our school because we are hosting a pay-it forward jewelry sale of jewelry created by Kenyan artisans. The money received from the jewelry helps pay for the assembly at a different school. Part of the profits also go to the Kenyan artisans and part go to help build fresh water wells in Kenya. We will have the jewelry for sale at school through December 6th. Kids can bring in their order forms and they will be called into the office during the day, or they can come to the office at the end of the day to purchase the jewelry.

Upcoming Thanksgiving Baskets

Winter Break Food Boxes-media-1For many years, the Edgewood Community has come together to create Thanksgiving Food Baskets for a number of Edgewood families who would otherwise not have the means or opportunity to have a traditional family meal on the holiday. Principal Larry will soon send out more information on the needs of our community and how we can help take some stress off the food planning of the holiday meal. If you are interested in helping out, you will be able to sign up to bring various food items or to make cash or check donations to help purchase needed items. We are hoping to support over 20 families this year. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
