Ask your student about the Fun Run Assembly!

Today, Fun Run organizers are getting kids excited about the upcoming Fun Run on Oct. 2 at an all-school assembly. Ask your student about the wild runners in the gym! And look for your student’s pledge packet in their envelopes this week. Want to help create a fun, energetic Fun Run? Sign up by:

Don’t cook or clean! Eat out Tuesday, Sept. 22, in support of Edgewood.

Edgewood’s first Dine-and-Donate event is Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Chapala’s—on 29th and Willamette or in the Oakway Center. Don’t forget your flyer! Chapala’s will donate 20 percent of your food purchase back to Edgewood. Can’t find the flyer that came home in your student’s folder? No problem. Check the event calendar at the PTA Website: The flyer can be opened and printed from home!

Oregon Battle of the Books starts now!

OBOB is a free after-school club for 3-5th graders. They meet once a month to discuss and battle books as teams. The first meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 23 from 1:45 to 2:30 p.m. in the library. Eat, drink and peruse gently used clothing! Volunteer too!

The Edgewood BBQ and Freecycle event was rescheduled to ThursdaySept. 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. The meal is $4 per person or $13 per family but no one is turned away. The Freecycle event allows people to pick up any clothes they’d like for their children (who likely outgrew last year’s clothing!) for FREE! If you would like to sign up to set up/take down the clothing for the Freecycle, sign up by:

Bike+Walk Month

October is Bike+Walk month and it is a great way to promote activity and alternative transportation! Last year’s successful Bike+Walk activities in May got 78 percent of the student body involved.
