Edgewood PTA survey
The Edgewood PTA would love to know what you envision when thinking of the future of Edgewood Community Elementary School. Would you like to see new playground equipment or more music time? Would students benefit from an outdoor classroom or enhanced garden space? Please take one minute to complete a very short survey:

PTA leaders met Superintendent last week
The 4J Parent Leaders is a group of involved parents that help the school district understand parent concerns and shape policy. Last week, PTA leaders came up with these goals:
- Increase the level of communication between parents with the District administration. We want our voices heard and action taken when it is needed.
- Open dialog between school parent groups. We want to share resources, ideas, and best practices among our schools’ parent teams to the benefit of all.
- Engage in the upcoming 4J visioning process. The last time the District had a comprehensive outreach to the community was more than 20 years ago. It’s time to hear from the community about the kind of schools we want.
- Understand and participate in key legislative efforts to help fix our school funding and administrative problems.
Currently, we have two Edgewood parents committed to this process over the course of the year — John Stapleton and Gayle Sawyer. If anyone has questions, or would like to participate, please e-mail John at president PTAEdgewood@gmail.com and we will find a way for you to make a difference.
Thank you so much to the new volunteers who have stepped into roles that make our Edgewood events run smoothly. Julia McMorran is our new Freecycle coordinator and Jill Mina is our new Green Team coordinator! Tell them you appreciate their time and energy!
Thank you to Brian Alijan for taking extra time to enhance the Edgewood School Web site, update the PTA Web site and put up a survey and other “extras” needed by the Edgewood PTA. His technical expertise is just what we needed!
It was great to see so many familiar faces at Curriculum Night. Thank you for coming out!
Have a great week,
