Thanksgiving baskets
We are so grateful to everyone who has signed up to contribute to our Thanksgiving baskets.  We will be filling 25 boxes this year.  If you are still interested in contributing, please call the office to see what all is needed.  (We have enough turkeys coming our way!). Please bring your donations by the end of the day on Tuesday.   We will also accept cash donations that can be used towards the Thanksgiving boxes or the Winter Break boxes.  Thank you to all the volunteers who are helping out with this!
Kindess Adventure Assembly and Jewelry
On Friday, the kids were treated to a Kindness Adventure Assembly. The performance was informative about Kenya and it was about how to show kindness to those we perceive as different from ourselves. The kids and staff loved the performance and it was free to our school because we are hosting a pay-it forward jewelry sale of jewelry created by Kenyan artisans. The money received from the jewelry helps pay for the assembly at a different school.   Part of the profits also go to the Kenyan artisans and part go to help build fresh water wells in Kenya. We will have the jewelry for sale at school through December 6th. Kids can bring in their order forms and they will be called into the office during the day, or they can come to the office at the end of the day to purchase the jewelry.
No more garden Tuesdays
The garden will no longer be open on Tuesdays. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to help-even just for a few minutes! Look for a work party at the end of winter to get the garden up-and-running for the spring.
PTA votes to send first graders to the Oregon Zoo
The PTA voted on Tuesday to fund a request from the first-grade team to take this grade on a field trip to the Oregon Zoo. It is a culmination of the students’ animal studies. In other business, the PTA voted to move its Website to a new url and add more resources to the 4J Edgewood school site. We’ll keep you updated on the new Website when it launches!
