Talent Show Information
We have a great group of kids lined up to share their talents! The talent show will be on Friday, June 9th from 1:00-2:30.

Our practice times for the talent show are Thursday, June 1st at 2:45-3:45 and Monday, June 5th at 2:45-3:45. These practices will be held in the gym. Students must attend one of these two practice dates scheduled before the dress rehearsal. The dress rehearsal is on June 8th from 2:50-4:00. All students will need to attend the June 8th dress rehearsal.
Summary of talent show dates:
June 1st – Talent Show Practice 2:45-3:45
June 5th – Talent Show Practice 2:45-3;45
June 8th – Dress rehearsal 2:50-4:00 (All students in the talent show must attend).
June 9th – Talent Show 1:00-2:30
Car Wash this Saturday, June 3rd 10:00-2:00! Support next year’s Outdoor School!
Our 4th and 5th grade students will be hard at work this Saturday washing cars to help raise funds for next year’s outdoor school. They will be selling pre-sale tickets for $10, but you can also purchase your car wash tickets at the front office. The carwash will take place at the Edgewood Veterinary Clinic in the Safeway parking lot from 10:00-2:00. Please come support next year’s outdoor school and leave with a clean car!
SCREENAGERS – Award-winning documentary about screen time coming to Edgewood!
On Thursday, June 8, the Edgewood PTA is showing Screenagers, a documentary about growing up in the digital age and the screens effects on brains. Through surprising insights from authors and brain scientists solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world. For more information visit

The event is at 6:30 p.m. in the Edgewood gym and is free of charge. There will be a viewing of this award winning documentary as well as a panel discussion.
Limited childcare will be available for school-aged children. It is necessary to reserve a spot through the office. We ask for $3/child.

PTA Meeting is June 13th
The last PTA meeting of the school year is Tuesday, June 13-not the typical 3rd Tuesday of the month. The meeting is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Edgewood library. There is free childcare in the cafeteria. PTA members will vote for next year’s officers, set dates for Edgewood events next year and hear updates from Principal Larry Williams. Email with questions.
Field Day is June 15th – Mark your calendars to volunteer!
We have a fun field day planned on Thursday, June 15th. This is a great end of year celebration for kids and a fun event to help out with. Kg-2nd grade will have their field day in the morning and 3rd-5th in the afternoon. We also need help with set up and clean up. Sign up to volunteer here: . It really is a great time!
Splash – June 20th
Edgewood 1st-5th graders will be going to Splash on Tuesday, June 20th. More details to come from your teachers!
Volunteers needed for the 5th grade Promotion Breakfast on June 22
Each year we celebrate our 5th graders with an end of year breakfast for them and their families. We need a few volunteers to make this run smoothly and we ask that they not be 5th grade parents so that they can enjoy the breakfast with their kids. Volunteers would help out from 7- 9:30am. Join the 2017-2018 Fun Run Committee
The Fun Run comes up fast each year and it is important to start planning for it now. Would you be available to help out on the Fun Run committee? We are looking for a few leadership roles in this event. It is fun for all and a fabulous fundraiser for our school! Edgewood Shirts – Support Outdoor School!
Our older style Edgewood shirts are available at any time in the office. We have them in a variety of styles and sizes while supplies last. Proceeds of the older style shirts will go toward outdoor school.

Lost and Found out in the breezeway. Check it out! Take it home!
The quantity of lost and found items is stunning. Please have your students reclaim items they have lost throughout the year. If you are at Edgewood during pick up or drop off hours, please take a look yourself. Lost and Found items will be displayed out in the breezeway as often as possible while the weather is nice. All items that are still here at the end of the year will be donated.
Box Tops
We are still collecting box tops and a trophy will be awarded to the classroom that has brought in the most. If you have them….bring them in!
Donate to the Edgewood Garden!
Edgewood Community Elementary School garden is looking for a few tools for summer maintenance. We need:
* a gas powered weed eater
* a gas powered lawn mower
If anyone is thinking of upgrading this summer, please consider us. These would need to be in good working order as we are staffed with volunteers. Thank you!

Pioneer Living History Festival, Saturday June 10th, 10am- 4pm
At Singing Creek Educational Center

$6 ea or $20 for a family of four
Have fun going back in time and doing pioneer activities and games! Hayride, music, fresh baked goods from the farm, kids passport through time, spinning, weaving, pioneer laundry wash and more! Fun for all ages! Wheelchair accessible. More info:
Eugene Middle School Ultimate presents ‘Pivot Camp’! 
Pivot Camp is an all ultimate frisbee summer camp that runs Mon-Fri 9am-3pm at Century fields behind Roosevelt Middle School. We have three different sessions: June 26th-30thJuly 24th-28th and Aug. 21st-25th. Our camp is co-ed and for incoming 6th graders to outgoing 8th graders. We welcome all levels of experience with ultimate and sports in general, and have a fantastic group of professional counselors to help kids build skills and learn about the importance of spirit and sportsmanship in ultimate. Our camps offer a ratio of campers to counselors of 6:1! There are scholarships available for those in need of financial assistance. Head to our website,, to learn more and to register.
