Edgewood PTA officer election June 7
PTA officers for next school year will be elected on Tuesday, June 7th. In order to run for office or vote for officers, you must be a PTA member (meaning you paid your $10 dues). We’d love to see more people coming out to vote and running for officer positions, so please e-mail vicepresident.PTAEdgewood@gmail.com if you are interested.
Calling all 5th-grade families!
On Tuesday at 7p.m., Spencer Butte Middle School has their information night for 5th grade families. It will be in the SBMS cafeteria. Come out and hear about the transition to middle school and what your 5th grader can expect!
Thinking about OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) for next year?
Want to know more about next year’s Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) program at Edgewood? Join us for a quick informational meeting after school on Wednesday, June 1 from 1:45-2:15p.m. in the Edgewood Library for all interested current 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. We will be handing out the list of new titles, answering questions, and briefly discussing next year’s program. Parents are welcome.
SO many of you biked, walked or took the bus to school!
Edgewood’s Bike/Walk Program was a huge success this year! Participation was between 80 and 85 percent (330+ kids & 12 teachers participated). Prizes for every student who participated will be announced this afternoon.
Come out for Edgewood’s Field Day!
Edgewood’s Field Day is Tuesday, June 14, and it promises to be great fun for all the students. The Kinder through 2nd graders will have field day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and the 3rd through 5th graders will have field day from 1:15-2:30 p.m. We’ll need 2-3 volunteers from each class to help the students with the races/games.
If you can’t make it during those times, we also need help the day before filling up water balloons or earlier in the morning with set up. Please let your teacher know or e-mail Tanya in the office at email@example.com

Below is a list of items that we need to acquire for our Field Day Stations. Please look at the list and see if you can help with any of these.

– 18 rolls of scotch tape
– 7 plastic or blow up kiddy pools
– 3 bags of zip ties
– 4 large jackets
– 4 scarfs
– 4 pairs of gloves
– 4 sashes
– 4 large bowls
– 4 containers (plastic jars)
– 72 pom poms
– 300-500 Water balloons (They will be filled at school by volunteers)

Eugene Springfield Youth Orchestra
(ESYO) would like to invite students to their concerts this coming week. Students are FREE if they mention “Mrs. Zollner” at the Will Call box office!

South Eugene/Churchill Youth Football & Cheer is getting ready to start another exciting and safe cheerleading and football season for kids in K-8 grade. We offer competitive games and a safe practice structure. Come to one of following registration dates to sign up, meet coaches and other players.

Practices begin August 15th.
State Championship games are played at Autzen Stadium at the end of the season.
Thank you so much to Principal Larry and Edgewood staff members who took time out of their mornings to walk students from Spencer Butte Middle School to Edgewood to help them participate in the Bike+Walk+Bus challenge. Your involvement meant that dozens more students could experience a different way of getting to school. THANK YOU!
