Talent Show Information
We have a great group of kids lined up to share their talents! The talent show will be on Friday, June 9th from 1:00-2:30.
We have one last practice today, Monday, June 5th at 2:45-3:45 in the gym. Any participant that did not attend the practice last Thursday needs to attend. All others are welcome to practice as well.

The dress rehearsal is on June 8th from 2:50-4:00. All students will need to attend the June 8th dress rehearsal.

Summary of talent show dates:
June 5th – Talent Show Practice 2:45-3;45
June 8th – Dress rehearsal 2:50-4:00 (All students in the talent show must attend).
June 9th – Talent Show 1:00-2:30

Obob Informational Meeting on Wednesday, June 7 1:45-2:15
There will be an informational meeting about next year’s OBOB program on Wednesday June 7 from 1:45-2:15 in the library. This meeting is intended for current 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders (next year’s 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders) who are NEW to Obob. Come meet the coaches and find out more about Obob. 2017-2018 Fun Run Committee meets Wednesday, June 7th at 8:35
The Fun Run Committee will meet this Wednesday at 8:35 to start organizing next year’s Fun Run. This fundraiser always comes up quick and organizing now will help it go smoothly next year. PBIS celebration this Thursday, June 8th
To celebrate positive behavior, this Thursday, students will be able to sign up for a PBIS fun station. Students will learn more about what the stations are. Ask them what special activity they picked on Thursday!
 
SCREENAGERS – Thursday June 8th 6:30
On Thursday, June 8, the Edgewood PTA is showing Screenagers, a documentary about growing up in the digital age and the screens effects on brains. Through surprising insights from authors and brain scientists solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world. For more information visit screenagersmovie.com

The event is at 6:30 p.m. in the Edgewood gym and is free of charge. There will be a viewing of this award winning documentary as well as a panel discussion. We are fortunate to have Edgewood parents who are also teachers, counselors and administrators in the district on our panel.

PTA Meeting is June 13th
The last PTA meeting of the school year is Tuesday, June 13-not the typical 3rd Tuesday of the month. The meeting is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Edgewood library. There is free childcare in the cafeteria. PTA members will vote for next year’s officers, set dates for Edgewood events next year and hear updates from Principal Larry Williams. We would love for you to add your name to the ballot if you are interested in being one of next year’s PTA officers. These include secretary, treasurer, Vice-President and President. Field Day is June 15th – Mark your calendars to volunteer!
We have a fun field day planned on Thursday, June 15th. This is a great end of year celebration for kids and a fun event to help out with. Splash – June 20th
Edgewood 1st-5th graders will be going to Splash on Tuesday, June 20th. More details to come from your teachers!
Volunteers needed for the 5th grade Promotion Breakfast on June 22
Each year we celebrate our 5th graders with an end of year breakfast for them and their families. We need a few volunteers to make this run smoothly and we ask that they not be 5th grade parents so that they can enjoy the breakfast with their kids. Volunteers would help out from 7- 9:30. 2017-2018 Edgewood Website Maintenance person needed!
We are looking for someone that could help maintain our Edgewood PTA and Edgewood school websites. This person needs to have a basic knowledge of WordPress for updating the news content. Edgewood Shirts – Support Outdoor School!
The office will continue to sell our older style Edgewood shirts while supplies last. We still have a variety of kid and adult sizes.  Tshirts and long sleeves are $10 and hoodies are $15. All money will go towards Outdoor school.
 
Lost and Found out in the breezeway. Check it out! Take it home!
The quantity of lost and found items is stunning. Please have your students reclaim items they have lost throughout the year. If you are at Edgewood during pick up or drop off hours, please take a look yourself. Lost and Found items will be displayed out in the breezeway as often as possible while the weather is nice. All items that are still here at the end of the year will be donated.
Box Tops
We are still collecting box tops and a trophy will be awarded to the classroom that has brought in the most. If you have them….bring them in!
Donate to the Edgewood Garden!
Edgewood Community Elementary School garden is looking for a few tools for summer maintenance. We need:
* a gas powered weed eater
* a gas powered lawn mower
If anyone is thinking of upgrading this summer, please consider us. These would need to be in good working order as we are staffed with volunteers. Thank you!

Appreciations
Thank you to to all of the Students and Parents and Teachers who made last Saturday’s Outdoor School Carwash a HUGE success. We were able to raise about $3,000 for next year’s outdoor school! Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser by purchasing a carwash!
