PTA Meeting is June 13th
The last PTA meeting of the school year is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 13-not the typical 3rd Tuesday of the month. The meeting is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Edgewood library. There is free childcare in the cafeteria. PTA members will vote for next year’s officers, set dates for Edgewood events next year and hear updates from Principal Larry Williams. We would love for you to add your name to the ballot if you are interested in being one of next year’s PTA officers. These include secretary, treasurer, Vice-President and President. Field Day is Thursday, June 15th – Sign up to help! 
We have a fun field day planned on Thursday!. This is a great end of year celebration for kids and a fun event to help out with. Kg-2nd grade will have their field day in the morning (9:30-11:00) and 3rd-5th in the afternoon (1:10-2:40). We also need help with set up and clean up. Splash – June 20th
Edgewood 1st-5th graders will be going to Splash on Tuesday, June 20th. More details to come from your teachers!
June 22nd is the last day of school! School day ends at 11:45.
Wow! The year is coming to an end! The last day of school is June 22nd and it is a half day. Students will load buses at 11:35 and everyone will be released at 11:45. You should have received a flyer asking if you needed a sack lunch on the last day. Please be sure and turn it in so that the cafeteria is prepared.
5th grade Promotion Breakfast on June 22 at 7:30am
Congratulations to all of our 5th graders who are finishing their Edgewood careers this year. 5th grade families are invited to celebrate their promotion on Thursday, June 22 with a breakfast at 7:30am. Students and younger siblings are $1.40 and adults are $4.00. No charge for free and reduced students and scholarships available as needed.

No more Popcorn this year
Thank you to all of the parents who helped pop Wednesday popcorn. Last Wednesday was our final popcorn day. We’ll be popping next year again!
2017-2018 Edgewood Website Maintenance person needed!
We are looking for someone that could help maintain our Edgewood PTA and Edgewood school website. This person needs to have a basic knowledge of WordPress for updating the news content. Edgewood Shirts – Support Outdoor School!
The office will continue to sell our older style Edgewood shirts while supplies last. We still have a variety of kid and adult sizes.  Tshirts and long sleeves are $10 and hoodies are $15. All money will go towards Outdoor school.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found items will be displayed out in the breezeway as often as possible while the weather is nice. The quantity of lost and found items is stunning. Please have your students reclaim items they have lost throughout the year. If you are at Edgewood during pick up or drop off hours, please take a look yourself. All items that are still here at the end of the year will be donated.
Box Tops
We are still collecting box tops and a trophy will be awarded to the classroom that has brought in the most. If you have them….bring them in!
Donate to the Edgewood Garden!
Edgewood Community Elementary School garden is looking for a few tools for summer maintenance. We need:
* a gas powered weed eater
* a gas powered lawn mower
If anyone is thinking of upgrading this summer, please consider us. These would need to be in good working order as we are staffed with volunteers. Thank you!

Willamalane’s 1PASS combines inexpensive summer fun for kids with accessible transportation.
Kids can use their 1PASS to hop on an LTD bus and go to Splash! at Lively Park,Camp Putt , the Science Factory and more.

The passes are on sale now at Bob Keefer Center, Splash! at Lively Park,Willamalane Park Swim Center,LTD‘s Eugene station and Eugene Rec

pools. Passes are nontransferable and are good May 29-Sept. 4, 2017

History themed summer camps
(http://www.fencingacademy.net/summercamps2017).  These camps explore the history of the Romans, Vikings, and medieval knights. Campers will craft and learn to use (foam) swords & shields, as well as other crafting activities. Our program is designed and taught by Tyler Stubbert, a middle school teacher in the 4J District with over a decade of camp counseling experience.
The first camp focuses on Romans (June 26-30), followed by Vikings (July 10-14), and finishing with Knight camp (July 17-21).  Each week is individually priced at $250, or two weeks for $450, or all three weeks for $650.
South Eugene Cross Country team is excited to be hosting  its 4th annual South Eugene Kids Cross Country Camp!
Camp goes from August 14th-August 18th from 9:00am to 12:00am for incoming 1st thru 8th graders. Daily camp activities include warm up runs, stretching, and age appropriate fun running activities. Campers will be split into age groups each day to do runs and running related games.
