Your PTA needs a mobile clothes hanger rack!

The Edgewood community is so very generous that we are stocked full of coats and other winter-weather gear, which is fabulous in helping to keep our students warm all winter long! But our clothing closet is busting at the seams and taking over some of the space needed for our food pantry. We are seeking a mobile clothes hanger rack so that we can hang up some of our clothes and make it easier for families to find what they need. It will double as a lost-and-found rack for those times when we set out lost-and-found items for families to peruse. Let us know if you have one of these that you would be willing to donate. Remember, your donation is tax-deductible! THANK YOU!

Help fill the Winter Break Food Boxes!

The 18 days of winter break can bring anxiety and food insecurity for some of our families. To support these families, Edgewood Village is putting together Winter Break food boxes filled with non-perishable items, fresh produce, proteins and dairy. Some of the items needs for the food boxes include peanut butter and jelly, cereal, pasta and sauce, canned meat, canned beans, canned fruit or vegetables, rice or rice dinners, granola bars, applesauce and crackers. Bring these items in by Wednesday, Dec. 16th. If your family could benefit from one of these boxes, please contact Secretary Tanya at 541.790.8700 or

Last PTA meeting of 2015!

PTA meets on Tuesday, Dec. 15th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Edgewood Library and you don’t want to miss this one! Members of the School Garden Project are going to describe their work with the entire second grade this year, as well as how their work helps students in every grade. Big Box Tops Challenge!

You might have heard about the Box Tops queen and king visiting your student’s classroom wearing hats covered in box tops?!?! It is part of how Edgewood is kicking off a new “Big Box Tops Challenge.” Collect your Box Tops between now and February 19, 2016, and attach them to the collection sheet brought home by your student. Each completed sheet will earn your student a small prize. At the end of the “Big Box Tops Challenge” the class that collects the most Box Tops will be the holder of the Box Tops trophy until the next “Big Box Tops Challenge.” Thank you for your support!

Need a coat or other clothing?

If you have a need for winter clothing, please feel free to “shop” the bins in the clothing closet/food pantry. The clothing closet is behind the double doors in the hallway between the cafeteria and the gym. Bins are marked by clothing type and there are many warm coats available as well. There is no need to make an appointment, just take what you might need-but all visitors to Edgewood campus must check in at the front office. Thank you!

Take a night or two off cooking next week!
