DEC. 12, 2016 NEWS BLAST

PTA meets a week early this month
Just a reminder that the PTA meets on Tuesday, Dec. 13th instead of the regular third Tuesday of the month due to the busy holiday season. The PTA meetings are in the Edgewood library from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Childcare is available for free in the cafeteria. Hope to see you there!
Please donate to the Winter Break Food Boxes
The Edgewood Village is hoping to provide boxes of food to more than 25 families to help during the 18 days of Winter Break. The boxes aim to help cover general food needs for the break since students will not have access to meals through school.
What’s needed? Non-perishable items such as pastas, sauces, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, fruit cups, granola bars, etc. Cash donations will be used to purchase dairy and proteins.
How? Just bring your donation to the office!
Please bring all donations in by Wednesday. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

OSU Extension Saturday classes
OSU Extension is having a free winter workshop series for youth aged 9 – 18. This will take place bi-monthly on Saturdays from Jan. – March. The workshops will cover topics including baking, gardening, food preservation, and fine arts, utilizing different professionals from throughout our county. It’s completely free, and youth do not need to be 4-H members to participate, but each workshop is capped at 20 youth.
OSU Extension will also have a Jr. Master Naturalist program, in which experts teach youth ages 9 – 14 about natural resources through science experiments, and fieldtrips to a variety of local public lands. This was previously only opened to homeschool youth, but we are expanding it to youth from all educational backgrounds. This program costs $20 for the year and includes a 4-H membership, but we offer full scholarships for all youth in need.
